Title: Generic chat thread
Post by: Silencer on 03-22-2015, 10:27
I haven't played a video game for two weeks as I am knee-deep in exam preparation. First one in two days and my posting here is just proof of my resilient urge to procrastinate and escape. But I will write it, and the ones after it, and I will pass them. GIVE ME POWAAAA

PROCRASTINATE 2: PROCRASTINATE HARDER

What is the theme of your current procrastination?

What is the theme of your current procrastination?
Virtual worlds. The previous one was intelligent systems, which was today. One of the most annoying exams I've ever written. It was like a human turing test.

So they needed to make sure that you were not a robot and you were judged accordingly?  Sounds... scary D:

Virtual worlds like FFXIV?

The opposite. You had to output results like a machine.

Virtual worlds like FFXIV?

More like mediocre Unity 3D racing game from previous students "enhanced" with Oculus Rift.

I like thinking like a machine.  It's not as intuitive as it would seem. |D

So you get barfy when you see the arrow pixels?

It's not that bad, no. Digital signal processing oral exam the day after tomorrow. Fourier transform how does it work.

Everything is composed of sines and cosines.  I learned that from Wolfram Alpha and Pokemon curves.

Math is magic.

Done with exam stuffs. Went really well except one but idgaf.

Exchanged heatpaste in my laptop. Really messy wiping off the (almost) dry old stuff with Arctic Cleaning but I am down 17°C under load so no more unwanted downclocking in games anymore.  8D Do recommend.

Just one project from last term going now but everyone is actually eager to finish it this month. After that I'll have a nice lazy summer term with two easy subjects.   :kona:

Math is magic.  I assure you of it.  Most other people here can vouch for that. :3

Congrats!  Glad you did well with most of your stuff.

It does make a big difference adding decent working thermal paste.  Air is not effective at cooling, at least the paste is about 1000x better.  Best would be fusing it to the chip but I guess silicon doesn't like 1400 degree temperatures. >.>

What's the project?  Lazy time is the best!

An accessible routing app using data from an own database, all with CRUD and moderatable change proposals to all the data stuffs. There still is no such thing as routing happening, but plenty of hard to read overmodularized Java.

I remember doing CRUD access in Java and wondered why no one had made a package to treat things as entities.  Entity Framework is an amazing thing (powerful and dangerous too).  If I wanted to send love letters to the database, I'd dust off PHP or go over to the database's house and raid his refrigerator.

Are you almost done with it now?

We are calling it done by today. Maybe some fixes still here and there but then handing in documentation of work times (oh god) and a little presentation.

Handing incomplete work is preferable to dying, for certain.  It sounds like you did well on it, though.  :O

Now that that's done... what are you up to?  How are you ever going to find a use for your free time? XD

Currently, Diablo III. It's fun for one to two weeks till you either got best equipment or accept the fact you're not going to get it. Especially now with 10% chance for legendary items being a better "ancient legendary" variant they just stack RNG on RNG on RNG.

After that, iunno maybe something productive for a change?

Who does anything productive these days?  Serious.

Sock is playing D3 expansion from what I remember.  I am told that your class that you choose determines the fun that you have in the game.
