It's about as real-time as XML data on webpages, do an update every 50 ms - means at most a 100 ms lag (in case file is open and writing), assuming you're using a hard drive.  If you make it a RAM drive, you could make it real-time, since RAM is 1000x quicker access.  What does that mean?  (DataData)Revolution. :D

Sound like a challenge?

You know what's stupid? My circadian rhythm, which is somewhere between, screwed up and totally obliterated. Ever since the spring forward I haven't been able to sleep till 2 in the morning and then I sleep till 11 unless I set my alarm clock. I try going to bed early but I just toss and turn until 2 or 3. This is a bad thing because when I need it fixed for when I head back to school. I know this is wrong because usually I'm dead tired by 1:30 even on weekends/breaks. It's actually 2:30 right now and this is the last thing I'm doing before forcing myself into bed and (hopefully) sleep.

Well, it's sort of like that for me, except traditionally it's only 1 AM instead.

Sometimes when I throw myself off it becomes 3 or later, though.

Time change makes 1:30 -> 2:30, that's why.

Know what helps with making yourself tired?  HARD LABOR.  Or at the very least, exercise, provided it's not less than 4 hours before bedtime.

I totally know what you mean though - yesterday I was tired at around 4:30 pm because... it was 4:30 and there's a lull in the time.  So I tried to take a nap.  In the sun.  Yeah, that doesn't work so well - thanks hypothalamus.  Then later, extreme tiredness!  But without wanting to go to sleep?  I love spring. :D

I know I should exercise but it was already like 1 before I thought of it and at that point it was too late. So yes sleep is now the elusive prey, but tonight I'm gonna go nuts with exercise and then turn everything off at midnight and go to bed. Hopefully my body will surrender to my will and I will awaken before 11.

I found a place online - Philips - which has some sort of light therapy where it "messes with your circadian rhythm to wake you up naturally" - it recommended that I get 30-45 minutes of sunlight for the first three days at 7 am then <30 of sunlight at 6:30 am.  I wonder how much it is?

Rant = I was at the mall, I was playing DDR, doing awesome (A'd Pluto Relinquish woo!) when this little kid walks onto the pad when I was trying to AA FELM and messed up my 400 combo (AKA prevented me from AA'ing it). I raged, but it made me wonder... Why don't parents keep their toddlers on a leash? They just run amok and get abducted or cause trouble and anger those around them. Idk, I mean we put dogs on leashes... Why not little kids? (they have around the same IQ and self control)

Sorry if this seems "in-humane" as people think... But hey, when your kid gets abducted, don't come crying to me....

They have some variant of that in China, but in America you have that whole overreactive human rights thing. Well, weigh it against what could happen if they get kidnapped and it's not so bad at all...

Considering how absurdly long leashes get even for dogs these days, though, I wouldn't count on the kids being much less annoying even if that were to happen.

No no I agree, little kids should be on leashes at all times, specially made short leashes, or shock collars. That would keep them in line...I don't particularly like kids (as if that wasn't painfully apparent).

I geass the difference is that with dogs, you keep them on collars so that they don't run away or cause trouble in public.  With humans, you need to teach them not to run away but at the same time be able to work in the same space with their parents at first.  I think the idea is a good one for younger children (like from walking onset to like 3) but after that, they need to learn boundary of mother's love and stay within it.

Just remember, you were a kid once, and some of the things that made you annoying also made you cute. :3

Yes, indeed I was a child and did annoying/cute child-like things. My true problem is kids that are out of control or parents that try to negotiate with a child that is having a fit. I believe in strictness and discipline that will teach a child what is and is not acceptable. When the child is calm then you can talk to them and they will grow up understanding that talking is good and to be done when you are calm, while the discipline will teach them that they sometimes will not get their way.

True that.  DOUBLE TRUE!

Discipline is a fantastic thing.  It's just as important for us adults, moreso that we do it (to) ourselves, so we get things done.  The previous generation (Gen X) grew up with a fear that their child would call protective services on them and psychologists saying that kids shouldn't ever be hit.  Occasionally, kids need to know who has the stick.

Exactly, no discipline is taught these days, so kids (of all ages) run around with no fear of repercussion. That, and the age of parents is lowering thus teens raising kids works out even less... Hence why a simple leash or occasional spanking would indeed really help these days.  D:

Here's a rant from this morning, except please excuse if the rant is not the usual fare. My rant is a wonderful, happy one, I was forced to put my beloved SNES into storage, a stone and metal affair with no climate control. This was almost 9 years ago. NINE...YEARS...AGO, I went and got it out of storage today and brought it home, IT STILL WORKS. After much cleaning of the outside (around 6 wet paper towels worth and 6 or so q-tips), the games are no longer dusty and the system is back in pristine condition(kinda). I am so happy now and will waste the rest of my day playing some super mario world/super metroid.

Well, on the way back from picking up a friend, my car started causing problems and I had to pull over three times, the last requiring a tow home.  It was fine two hours earlier when I came home from school.  At least it happened on a recreational journey and not to school or something.

That's what I get for driving an old car.

Sorry to hear that, the nice thing about old cars is that they don't generally cost any more than new cars to fix things that go wrong, especially if you have one that is ubiquitous.  I have a 1997 Buick, and when things go wrong, it's about $400 to fix.  It's better than having a $250 car payment and then having to pay the $400 to fix it.

I hate being semi-blind and not having steady hands... While gluing down the tiles on my new 3x3x3 cube the white face wound up horribly crooked, at least it wasn't bad enough to interfere with the other pieces, but still... Ugh... Stickers are so much easier to put on.  XD

eternalomega - GET EARTHBOUND!  :D

Don't I wish, I actually have somewhat of a wish list concerning snes rpg's: Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Tales of Phantasia,Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys, and Zelda Link to the Past. Unfortunately these are rare specimens and I have no way of getting any of them.

I have run into a nostalgic problem with the cartridges though, I was playing Super Mario World with my girlfriend when I reached down for something and jostled the cart ever so slightly. I heard an alarming "uh oh" and when I looked up the screen had gone totally black except for little mario and luigi sprites. Upon reset all the data had been lost from all 3 games including the one my dad had where he was all the way at Bowser's castle (my dad used to play all the time..better than me). This did not anger me as I looked at it as a fresh start.

Oh and Imasock truly I feel for you for that does sucketh most righteously.

Ha, not really. I got this weird assembly cube which has tiles as opposed to stickers. So I am mostly putting it together. Though for some reason the cube really sucks compared to the other ones I got from the place. So it's really disappointing.

@ eternalomega - Yeah, earthbound is a tough find these days, makes me glad I got it when it first came out! (Though at the time I was mostly fascinated by the big green box it came in, lol... I was only like 4, so I guess it was a big selling point for me)  :awesomD

Okay, here I go...

So a few weeks ago while I was living in San Diego, my little sis told me about how she was playing around on one of my PSO: ESP. 1 & 2 files. I asked her if she was using the green (well, technically viridian, but whatever) male ranger. She said yes. X( Now that I'm back at my parent's house, I find out that she messed around in my YELLOWBOZE RAmarl instead, which is ironic since that character was modeled after my little sis. Still, she made me worry about my PSO files because she 'got the details wrong'. -_-;

At least you have PSO files still, lulz.  My ridiculous characters are gone now due to GCN corruption.  Sad day.  Oh well, my PC characters are pretty amazing now, too.
