Well it's one of those things, it says that it's not supported on W7, it might work fine, it might work with bugs, it might be catastrophic fail. I just want to be sure before I spend my money on it.

That's what torrents are for, I suppose, or at least one of their uses.

True, but I'll probably just buy it. It's 30 bucks for the GOTY box that has all the DLC for free so... besides I've been getting about a 50-50 split on whether it works or not.

I'm not sure but I'm pretty certain that if F3 doesn't work on W7, Bethesda would have patched it to work on it by now.  I do own the F3CE, and enjoyed it very much, but alas, XP is my system's OS of choice.

Yes well we will see soon, but I'm actually very impressed with W7. It's handy and easy to work with, only complaint is that there is a certain level of handholding i.e. "are you sure you want to do this? yes are you really really sure? yes well you can't. ugh click click click OK FINE GEEZ DO WHATEVER YOU WANT BUT DON'T COME CRYING TO ME WHEN YOU WRECK EVERYTHING"

user played by italics in this production.

Activate the admin account and just use that. Much more XP-like.

I did, I had to turn the UAC off as well but I believe my meaning is clear. They really don't want you messing around with the system.

They do that cause SOMEBODY went and had to do something stupid (i.e. 99% of computer users), though I've had this discussion with multiple people from the forums.

The rest of us laugh or are pained by having to deal with such warning labels, but someone had to bork it to get this far so...

I do understand that one, I've known people that are at the level of "delete your system 32 to make your computer run faster!" "Really! OK!" So it's a matter of it irritates those who know better but it does serve a purpose.

Reminds me of the new avast, it is controllable to be like internet mom if you want it to be, but it can also be as minimally invasive as possible (lower the shields).  I think a nice touch is the disabling of the shields and uninstallation has a 1 minute confirm window - keeps rootkits from uninstalling your av.

Should I buy Final Fantasy XII (12)? I need a game to tide me over on spring break and Final Fantasy is always good for a time sink.

Depends on whether you value solid gameplay over a good story, because FF12 has some of the best combat in the series but the plot is widely regarded as one of the worst.

FFX-2 is pretty much in the same boat, if you haven't played that either, although it has a lot more goofy charm so you don't take the plot too seriously there.

Any alternative suggestions for the ps2? In general I prefer good story and if it can hook me I'll play it. Planescape: Torment had a mediocre interface/combat system but the plot was so good after it finished I was dumbfounded, it is still my #1 game. I'm just looking for something new.

Kingdom Hearts? Persona? Star Ocean? I haven't played the PS2 Arc the Lad games, but if they're like the older entries, they should be solid also.

All good suggestions, thanks.

PS- You want plot go with Metal Gear Solid, I've played all but MGS4.

If you have a DS, HG/SS are coming out on Sunday; also, I recently picked up a copy of The World Ends With You.  The real title should be The Cliche Ends With You, since the main character is Xenogears'd.  It's a surprisingly fun, relatively easy to control, fully interactive with the touch screen game.  I really didn't like the main character at first.  He's not that bad after day 3, but still yeah.

Good concept and characters, anyways.  Grindfest yeaaaaaah.

So I'm in gamestop and I go "wait a minute, I don't like Final Fantasy. Oh look Onimusha 1&2 for $5 and MGS 3 for 20", plus my gf has Arc the lad so I'll play that as well.

IIRC the grind goes faster if you max the difficulty as soon as you can. One of the best games on DS in my opinion, I remember having a crazily powerful setup in the end.

They start you off with some amazing weapons, especially after you get to day 2 with 3 things.  For me, a good combo is slash, lightning, and fire.  Telekinesis is really cool when there's cars around. 8D

There was this badge that makes a chain or string or whatever slash across the screen and stay there, and enemies caught by it flinch, too. I'd toss out like three of those at once and beat them up with some other stuff, wrecks all normal encounters handily.

The optional battles in that game are tough but awesome.

Even on normal difficulty on low hp, it's not really that hard to pull a B on most enemies.  The difficult thing is FLYING THINGS don't respond to many attacks.  Also, Frozen Frogs. Cirno

Pig battles are the best :D

My wireless headphones broke, I'm looking for new ones. Preferably ones I could find in stores so I could go look at them better before I buy. Suggestions?

Sennheiser has some outstanding wireless headphones if you don't mind paying a hundred or so dollars for them.

Wow, that's actually not bad for wireless headphones. The fact that they come with a recharge station is even more :awesome: .

The recharge station is boss, too.  You just put it on the hanger, and it does the rest for you, no setting in terminals like Sony's wireless set.
