Ok now I'm irritated, I bought DMC 3 Special edition. It was the same price as the normal and it has extra stuff. So I'm playing it tonight and I realize something, the extra content isn't there, the clerk at the store put in the wrong disc. I know this is a small gripe but it is very irritating to me to not get what I payed for.

Take it back and show them it's not the same.  I did that once.  I bought a game that came in a special edition, and when I got it home and opened it up, only two of the five items were there. I'm one of those people that purchases pre-orders specifically for the goodies that accompany them, so the next day I took a trip back and let them know how things went down.  They gave me some grief but I raised hell and had everyone in the gamestop looking at the guy behind the counter (who was also the one who sold it to me the day before).  He eventually refunded me for the purchase, and I took my money, told him I'd purchase it at a different establishment, and said I'd never shop there again (though I did once because I found a hard to find game there for dirt cheap).

You paid for it, go back and get it, and make sure they know well and good your opinion about their inadequate service.  Game stores these days have such a bad rep, but it's a well deserved one.

Yeah, I'm gonna take it back; I don't think I'll have to raise that much hell as it's probably just an honest mistake. The only thing is the disc, it's not the special edition disc. There were no extra goodies in it, the dude was helping a kid and his dad trade in their ps2 and about 100 games and had to stop in the middle to help us. His idiot other associate wandered off and which from discussion didn't seem unusual, the discs look about the same and I'm putting my faith in the fact that he just made a grab for the first disc with the DMC 3 title on it. He actually made an effort to get us the best used discs he had in the drawer (minimal scratching) and we have 7 days to take it back if we don't like it so I don't think it'll be a problem.

Ah, well, then yeah, I suppose you've thought about it enough.  My case was a bit different, it was sold to me as new and obviously wasn't.

Yeah, you got seriously screwed and I think you have every right to raise hell when things are obviously completely messed up.

Kingdom Hearts is great but I wish it had DISNEY SONGS

Other than in Atlantica, I mean.

Ok, after a few days with new games here are my impressions. DMC is fast and furious fun, my only gripe is it's pathetically weak story. DMC 3 fixes it but I'm not playing any more until I get the special edition I payed for. Resident Evil 4 is fun and interesting. Continue making recommendations, I trust players like you guys way more than any critic or frankly many other gamers. Persona 3 hasn't been played yet.

For what it's worth, my little sister beat Persona 3 by herself.  It marked the very first RPG she has finished all on her own.  She even went as far as to grind to level 99 etc.

I remember that, but yeah I'll get to it eventually and from what you said it sounds like fun. I thought it was hilarious cause I went and bought it new because it was only 5 bucks more than used and it turned out due to some promotion I got it for 15 bucks.

I don't think Atlus expected it to be a sleeper hit.  The characters are cool, the story's interesting, evokers, yeah.  It's still getting some buzz a year after release.

If you have a DS and can get your hands on it, Rhapsody is a cute but really short game.  If you can find it on PS1, get it.  Nippon Ichi's Ichiban.

Rhapsody didn't feel refined enough to me to be worth playing through. Oh well...

DS has tons of good games for it, though.

Nope, I had a choice between a psp and a DS and I went for the PSP for the CFW and ability to get emulators on it.

It was a good choice, though the main library of games has much less to offer in terms of worthwhile games than a DS does (the emulators make it worth it though).

Not sure I'd say "much less"; it has fewer games, but they tend to last longer.

I felt it had the potential to last longer than the DS, but historically I've made bad decisions in the game system department. I was thinking about getting a DS at some point, but as everyone can understand the funds currently don't allow for it.

Indeed there is, and my psp has served me very well so far and has given no signs of faltering in the entertainment department.

You have your PSP home brewed right or is it a standard?

Homebrewed, you can't load emulators on a standard.

No problem, but yeah without Custom Firmware (CFW) psp is significantly less fun.

Or an iPod with a broken headphone jack. Actually, I have an iPod Touch and the headphone jack is loose or dirty, or something, because it won't come through the headphones. It's pretty much useless other than playing games, and even that needs sounds. D:

Beat DMC3, good game high level of difficulty made it satisfying to beat, only problem is I saved over the completed file with fully upgraded Dante with a level one file with the secret character. That's about 40 hours of work gone, I'm not even mad I'm just resigned to it and now will put it away and go play persona 3.

Well not much I can do is there? So instead of bemoaning my fate I'll just move along to other things. Persona 3 is starting out slow and I'm not very much on the system of days and activities but we'll see how it works as the game progresses.

EDIT: I have a very important question, in persona 3... can you grind?

Mmm... you can, but it's not rewarding (in that it takes _way_ too long).  The game is meant to be life-draining for every fight that you do.

Ah, well then...we will have to see about this. I tend to hardcore grind when I play RPG's; some players are tactical they bring the exact equipment necessary to counter the enemies specific abilities, I fall into the category of players who bring the biggest sword and shield to the fight and have leveled up so much that my abilities and stats are high enough to render the bosses abilities meaningless.

Also in Persona am I on a time limit a la Valkyrie Profile?

Yeah me too, I'm so bad at getting everything I need to get done, done.

EDIT: Ok I have a question to all who have played P3 FES- should I go for max social links 1st time or just run through normally; ie working on building some up and fighting on the off days.
