Anti-Matter is such a good song. It's ridiculous.

That's the Standard chart, but the Heavy vid has horrid audio.

EDIT: Anyone know if they got rid of mines... ah, Shock Arrows?

I'm assuming not. Some of the Challenge charts are rated 4-6, with Expert rated much higher.

Shock Arrows are still in, to the best of my knowledge.
bag and Second Heaven Challenge unlocks confirmed: bag is the unfixed-triplet Heavy, Second Heaven is the loctest Heavy. (8/25 EDIT: It's actually a version of the loctest Heavy with better step placement.)

Longer video of Valkyrie dimension:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHEoQO0SLPc
How does X2 keep trumping itself?

Also, people are theorizing that Spriggan is a DJ Yoshitaka alias, given that:
a) Valkyrie dimension is 185 BPM, and
b) It has the Unicorn Tail drums and the signature Yoshitaka crash.

Great song, good find there.

The composition doesn't sound like anything Yoshitaka's done before, but maybe that's what he needs to get people off his back about his stuff all being the same.

Good god the announcer in these games gets worse and worse.  I'm pretty sure I would never play this game simply because of the announcer these days.

Haha, perhaps, but at least X2 looks like the first DDR in ages for which it's worth getting the simfiles.

I actually am pretty sad, I thought that Valkyrie Dimension would be harder, maybe there are super-long streams after the slow-down gimmick part.
I wanna some streams!! :D And yes, the whole DDR, keeps getting better.

It's probably either Yoshitaka or Kobo (why you ask? Song sounds just like his style) but it doesn't sound Yoshitaka, that's for sure.

Yeah I want to play this, ddr is still fun imo but these charts are actually seeming good. I'm glad koonami seem to be phasing out boss songs that are only tough thanks to 400bpm death runs

Because Trigger was not fun at all, ok it was but I mean the chart was way to sloppy Valkyrie dimension looks great though. Wonder what the oni chart is like  :O

Even if some of the rhythms are questionable, they seem to have a much better sense of what patterns work, at least. The quality looks comparable to that of MAX1, which isn't too shabby.

MAX, other than dropping the rating system in favor of groovdar, was a nice change.  I still like living in the glory days of DDR (4th - 5th mix, when the music was all disco all the time), but the music developed nicely in MAX.  I agree that the music in X2 seems like it is going the direction of IIDX in terms of new music (and licenses) that people will like a lot.

XXAC -> IIDX?

Yeah one thing I noticed about a lot of the X-Specials were the overuse of a bunch of sloppy patterns which required either a lot of retarded spins or a bunch of annoying double stepping, from a few of the previews in x2 it seems like they are getting a lot more creative but then again I haven't played any of the sims sooo I guess I can't judge yet.

I'm still excited though, the fact that they are making the music choice a bit more like 2dx is a much better choice because it was starting to seem like the only good songs were the retarded boss songs. Seems more evened out to more interesting 8's and 9's than SN and X. But again it may just seem that way from the previews.

Valkyrie dimension very-near-clear CUT2 lineout!

That new section sounds BRUTAL. Amazing, but brutal. Santotsuga, there's your 16th streams to be. And that speedup... D:
Please let there be a long version please let there be a long version please let there be a long version...
Also, Valkyrie Maniacs sounds like it could work.

Okay, stupid question, maybe I just missed something: Why does the previous video have 16ths after the speed-hold, but that new one doesn't?

Edit: Oh, CUT2 is a mod. That's interesting.

It's kind of surprising that you can use mods like that in the OMES, considering. But that's how it is, apparently.

Dumbest laid out chart ever.  I couldn't even follow how your feet were supposed to have moved.  Maybe it's because I haven't played DDR in like, a year, but KBSM still counts as being able to think fast enough, by far.  =X

Well, without the 16th notes, a lot of the patterns get very weird, but the whole chart is better without any CUT's.

Also, the song got even more epic, Yoshitaka did probably the best sounding EES at all time. The end is just WOW. We need full version.

That person did it by using CUT2 while AAing Sakura Sunrise. Presumably, that was their last medal.

better look at the chart? this way at least the steps are making a lot more sense but because of the source audio everything seems off sync to me. Still looks fun though, glad to see konami experimenting with stuff

all this ddr talk has made me want to play again, guess my time off is over

Possession looks great, Anti-Matter looks like some ITG absurdity, though. Especially if you know what the song actually sounds like.

I was talking about inappropriate overstepping relative to the song itself.

Is 888's chart the same as in Universe 3? That one was pretty stupid, too.

DeltaMAX was unchanged from Universe 3, so I doubt 888 is altered wither.

What I don't understand is how it's only an 18.
