You teach? Are you a research assistant?
Or more?
The school I teach at started a new high school as part of their program, so now they are 5-12 instead of just a middle school or high school. It is a STEM school so we focus on the math and sciences aspect of things, but we do not neglect any of the other subjects by any means.
Anyway, last year I taught 9th graders, since that's all we had. This year I'm teaching 9th and 10th grade. We have a lot of really advanced kids, so it's a bit of a challenge. This coming year I'll have a 7th grader in my Algebra 2 class, that sort of thing. I'll also be coordinating / running our school's tutoring lab so kids can come in and get help after school for whatever they need.
It's a bit intimidating at times, but I love it. 90% of my students are great to work with and I consider it quite a humbling experience every year. Everyone at the school has been teaching for 10+ years, yet I was hired without any previous experience at this school district, so it's hard to keep up with what goes on and what everyone is doing. I did previously teach at the college that I got my degrees from, so I have middle school through college teaching experience.
Edit - I should also say that I DJ for all of the dances held on campus. The kids get a kick out of that.
