meltywindows probably should, they're always in a half viscous state.

Even icywindows are in a half-viscous state.  Glass is a very very viscous liquid after all.

That's what I was taught in HS science, but I've also heard glass described as an amorphous solid.

So... at what temperature does glass become a true solid?

It's not a temperature-dependent occurrence; it has to do with the speed at which you freeze stuff. If you freeze a substance slowly, the molecules have plenty of time to get in nice, crystalline order, but if you freeze quickly, forming a proper crystal might not be possible. That's what amorphous solids are about.

People sometimes debate whether amorphous solids are really liquids, but the fact of the matter is if you want to try again you've got to heat it back up to melting point, which indicates to me that it's just a funky solid.

Also, if we make the oversimplification that glass is pure silicon dioxide, then quartz is the crystal form. As it is, it's really a mixture, but I imagine it'd freeze into something similar--after all, you can make nice popsicles from juice.

Despite my education, I've moved more into the amorphous solid school of thought.  Considering if you apply enough pressure to ice to break down its crystalline structure (for example, the bottom layers of a glacier), it will flow like liquid water.  I don't think a substance should be called a liquid simply because it lacks a crystalline structure.
