Wow, this brings back the days when I used DWI as a simulator lol, because I've read this in that same time period.

In retrospect, this is hilarious.

You'd spend more time reading and trying to understand that crap than you would just practicing the stupid song to the point where you'd be able to pass it.

Haha, I'm just amazed someone would take the time to write it when the song is so easy anyway. The challenges MAX 300 has are in leg speed and stamina, neither of which you can get from reading.

Twice, I've made it to the pause, only to fail on the first arrow afterwards. Typically, I start off doing well enough to get an A and fail suddenly, because I just can't keep up. I might, MIGHT, get it eventually.

MORE WEIGHT, YOU BASTARDS.

A couple years ago the strategy was to just move around a little during the freeze, so that you're still In Motion, making the following section easier.

At this point, though, I could eat The legend of MAX for lunch. I'd be kind of hungry though, it's not very filling.

I've been able to pass exactly three 10's at some point.

bag Single-Heavy on DDR Extreme AC (2x, so it doesn't really count)
SAKURA Single-Heavy on DDR Extreme 2 (ignition-style pad, just barely)
D-Code Single-Expert on ITG2

Max 300 continues to Go Beyond me, for some reason.

For a moment I was like "D-Code what?" and yeah, ITG. You could try the Anarchy easy 10s like Waxing and Wanding, and The Dirty of Loudness.

SAKURA is less demanding physically, but it's harder to score on for me than MAX 300. Once you have the speed and stamina down, MAX 300 has nothing.

MAX 300 : SAKURA :: MaxX UNLIMITED : The legend of MAX

My mind is stuck in GRE-land.

The crazy thing is, there are still some 9's that I can't pass, so that I can pass any 10's is really bizarre, I think.

I planned on loading some Anarchy files on my USB card for whenever the local ITG2 is fixed, actually.

Depends which 9s we're talking about. If it's Cartoon Heroes, I'm not surprised.

With a few exceptions, anything post-5th Mix that's a 9, I haven't passed. A combination of not really having the opportunity and not being up to it most of the time.

Cartoon Heroes can bite me. I can't pass that mess, but I've passed So Deep.

I love Cartoon Heroes, finally passed it about a month ago.  Was so happy.

For stamina, good songs to play over and over are healing vision angelic mix, end of the century, daikenkai oni, and so deep.  Still haven't gotten the stamina to beat Max300 though.  I can't move my legs quickly enough.  I've almost passed paranoia survivor heavy.

I still think Cartoon Heroes is the hardest non-bullshit 9, although the only one I think is honestly bullshit is The Least 100 Seconds. It doesn't help that I just hate the (latter) song.

If you want the stamina to beat MAX 300 all you do is play MAX 300 over and over, but I recommend you do this only at home because otherwise that's expensive and silly. Even if you fail, you'll build up teh powar. Also, if you can do the beginning, there's really nothing too bad throughout the rest of the song either, except for the triple hits at the end, which generally break my combo on the last one. That's annoying, but at that point my AA is solid anyway.

On the other hand, MaxX UNLIMITED is a relative pain to clear. Just bullshit any mini-runs as jump clusters, though, and it becomes easy. Incidentally, the same trick works on the gallops near the end of The legend of MAX.

If you really want to crush these songs, practice Fascination MAXX instead, because once you get the hang of 400, 300 to 333 never seems fast again. Cmod is okay in this instance, because you just want to build up on speed anyway.

Least 100 Seconds was great in the sort of so bad it's great thing.  An 8, the runs are very polar.

Also, the title sounds like it should be a jeopardy answer:

Question: What is the bar?

Haha, that's great. Was The Least 100 Seconds an 8? If so, it's more BS than all 9s. Sort of the same with Drop Out, but that had decent steps and was uprated in 8th, I think.

Yep, from an 8 to a 9.  Drop out was the first exercise in teaching people how to break songs into parts just so they can pass them.  Fun, challenging, especially with the 8ths in there.

It was? Then I don't understand that either, song is damn easy--but not necessarily more so than Dead End, which I'm still convinced should drop to 8 already.

I would beg to differ, but I'm not asian or be of the body type that has "stamina" in my top 8 traits.

I understand dead end being a 9.  Combo killers.

The thing is, after the freeze, you're just one 8th stream from the finish. It might be kind of long, but the rhythm is extremely regular and there's really nothing to watch out for unless doublesteps are a problem (at 9-foot level they aren't really).

That said, nothing builds stamina like MAX Forever.

double steps at 200bpm are kind of difficult for me, especially when they're not on the same arrow.  I prefer to walk through most of my charts, exotic ethnic included (also haven't beaten that one either ^^;)

Hmm, the easy way if you can't do it "normally" is to slide, but this is dependent on your pad--it has to be a foam pad, specifically. Suckpads will just crumple and metal pads typically aren't good for this either.

If you have the right pad and you want to practice sliding, BREAK DOWN is good.

Ah, that's a little more of a problem. No harm in getting a pad for home practice, though (I've forgotten why this hasn't happened, perhaps).

I don't have a PS2, it's hard to find a pad that doesn't totally fall apart that I can keep track of my placement, et. al.
