Super-mini Pop'n con, plus Pop'n for PC. Any thoughts?

So CUUUUTE!  Do want.

Very much so.  It makes me happy.  It'd be hard to play, but still, fun.

Porta-Pop'n?

It seems to be based on Pop'n 14, too, which is a good thing.

Agreed.  I think this is import worthy now, since I've only got up to pop'n 13, =P

Hmm, it's too bad I just finished clearing all the 36s on Pop'n 14, so there's not much play value in here now...

(While we're on the subject, NATURE / forest song is now my favorite song on Pop'n 14, which is pretty crazy when it's right next to HIGH SPEED LOVE SONG on the songwheel. But it'd probably be horrible for DDR.)

Kind of like half of the songs that they put in Supernova?  See: Quickening, Tomorrow Perfume, and Rainbow Flyer.

Quickening just wasn't much good in general, I thought, but TAKA is boss man, after all.

Rainbow Flyer has DDR potential though (even if they didn't use it well). Maybe I'll do it later to show how it's done 8)

EDIT: To clarify, forest song is gorgeous orchestral at 91 BPM, with ethnic flavors that I can't quite place, but don't seem to be Asian. Some people compare it to Nekomata (who's absent from Pop'n 14 entirely, probably the only major flaw in the game), but it's really different.

The version on this site is very happy-looking, though, so I don't see this as a negative.

I'm more likely to step FEVER ROBO (whatever the name is).

EDIT: Dance, Fever Robo (odoru FEVER ROBO) / daniel & eimy
For later reference, so I can dig it up when needed.

Holy shit, Pop'n 14 just gained more play value because I am suddenly amazing at Pop'n. Passed 3 39's just now: Trance EX (Colors), Tri-Euro EX (Let's Go Out), and Pop Desco EX (POPDOD). Also one 38... Consequently, I now have more 39s passed (3) than 38s (2). How strange, but there aren't many 38s in Pop'n 14, and Happy Hardcore EX (Be Lovin') is still way too hard because of its BS ending.

The annoying part is the 37s that are just way harder than these 39s. What the hell, GABHOP EX, I don't like your 16th hammers at 170 BPM.

They're chords in addition to being 16th hammers, so not exactly, it's just ugly. I figured out how to maintain my lifebar through that, but the ending is even worse.

As a general rule, Des-Row songs on Pop'n are hard as nails, at least on EX.

Is not!  There's no turnable, although most turntables don't work right with USB adapters in the first place.

You can use the usual Pop'n-plugged-in-for-IIDX setup, which is two buttons as scratch and the other seven as the keys. Probably with the super-mini size, this would be pretty damn good, actually.

Using the right hand keys as actual keys, bottom left ( Key 1 ) as scratch stab, and the rest on a keyboard sounds fine to me

IE:
Key1-7: Popnkeys3-9
Scratch: popnkey1 ( similar to Shift, ZSXDCFV )
VEFX,Effects,OP,Exit: Keyboard 1-4
Movement=Keyboard Arrows

Fin.

That being said, I want to see the game that the _controller_ goes with

I'd use buttons 1 and 2 as scratch, because of heavy scratch patterns which would otherwise create a button 1 jackhammer that isn't supposed to be that way. But agreed on the rest.

The game, as noted, seems to be based on Pop'n 14, although of course we know next to nothing on the songlist.

Which means that it will be made of win, but only perhaps partially so.  It has potential to have filler.
