The initial songlist on this thing is almost all licenses. The "default" song (the first the wheel lands on) is a Britney Spears track. Yes, that almost made me punch my TV, but that would have hurt, and I'd have to replace the TV, so I didn't. A lot of the other licenses make me cringe, and I'm very tolerant of that kind of thing, which doesn't bode well, but at least the Goldfrapp songs make up for it... a little.

Hyper Master Mode is a combination of Extreme 2's Dance Master Mode, except it's entirely linear, and Stellar Master Mode. That's a bad thing. I broke down and used a Codebreaker on NOVA1 because SMM annoyed me so much, I'm already wanting to do the same to NOVA2.

More later...

Get serious.

Wow, that's terrible.

I hope this means rips come soon, though.

A Thing Called Love is the HMM Area A boss song, so I know that's in the game. I still haven't spotted Sunkiss Drop. I'll try to get you lossless rips, if I can, though I've never done the ripping myself.

E-motion is in the game, HMM mission C-4. If they added Challenge steps to it, that might be cool, but as-is, it makes me yawn.

This thing is going to be long. Up through Area D, nothing is played on anything harder than Light/Basic.

It looks like all four of the "online only" songs from NOVA1 are fully playable this time. That'd be great, if I actually cared about any of them.

A lot of NOVA1 AC songs that didn't appear in NOVA1 US CS are appearing here. That's great, but why couldn't we have gotten them the first time around?

One nice thing about HMM versus SMM is that you can actually jump right to the boss song of each area. Beat that, and you can move on. You still have to clear a mission with a locked song to be able to purchase it, though.

Edit: Or maybe it isn't so long? Area J is the last, ending with NGO on Expert, the challenge being to clear it with fewer than 15 steps rated lower than Good. It then unlocks "HYPER MASTER MODE(DOUBLE)" -- if that means you have to play it on Double to unlock everything, I will be writing a very angry letter to Konami over this.

Okay... it looks like people have dumped the contents of the game, AND THE PLANET SONGS ARE GONE.

What the hell, 573?

Personally, I think this version is a combination of three US versions: MAX2, Extreme, and Extreme 2.

MAX2: Obscene number of unwanted/pointless revival songs.
Extreme: Generally crappy songlist.
Extreme 2: A least a good chunk of the new stuff is good.

I'm never going to see Paranoia Hades, Trip Machine Phoenix, or Outer Limits without an "unlock all" code of some sort.

Now that I'm over my initial gripes with the game, it's really not that bad. The new songs are fairly well-stepped, if nothing else, making even some of the more grating licenses tolerable on some level. The ending song list isn't all that pathetic, and if nothing else gives me a "real" version of stuff like Flowers, Honey Punch, Hunting for You, and Dragon Blade without resorting to DDR Universe or importing a foreign version (which would also require modding my PS2, or buying a foreign console).

The Stars remix is pretty good, EternuS is great, Raspberry Heart and A Thing Called Love may be the best new songs in the game, and Unreal makes me hope for more Black Rose Garden in standard games; I know there's a BRG track in Hottest Party, but I'd hardly call that "standard."

But, Konami, why did you have to revive Bag (wtf), Ballad for You, Cachaca, and E-motion?

Good news, BRG is a Konami in-house artist, so return appearances are very likely.

(I heard they cut the piano out of EternuS... is it true?)

EDIT: Random trivia, BTW, EternuS was inspired by Chrono Trigger. I just thought that was kind of cool.

There's also an indy band out of Texas with the name "Black Rose Garden" -- I wonder if that'll cause any issues at some point.

And there's no piano to be heard in EternuS. That'd be interesting, I'm sure.

I've just noticed this contains a song called FIRE. I think sometime, we should attempt to make this: SCORPION FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE WIRE

(Scorpion Fire + FIRE + FIRE FIRE + Fire Wire)

Those four would make a decent combination of their own, no need to interrupt the amazing chain of fire.

I think the title in that case would be

lim       (u=2*burning -> floor+heat)
u->hot

Translated as "limit of you get to burning the floor heat as you goes to hot"
It's engrish enough of its own volition :D

Although this doesn't look like such a great Mix, it's worth mentioning that it seems to be selling really cheap right now ($20) here: http://shop4.outpost.com/product/5384228?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
